Welcome to Flush & Brew dispatch #4!
I’ve been toying around with the idea of doing small batch subscription-style tea offerings for a while now, and I think for late summer, I’m ready to test the waters!
A recent mailing mishap in my own tea subscriptions from Plantation HK resulted in me receiving a repeat selection of three teas from the same plucking season. So for my very first pilot, I’m doing a one-off, limited edition redistribution as a mini fundraiser for the studio.
These are Phoenix Dancong oolong teas grown on Phoenix Mountain in the Guangdong Region of China plucked in the Spring of 2020! I have very, VERY limited quantities of three specific cultivars of the Phoenix Dancong that I’m packing for this first iteration.
How It Works
This batch of teas will be available for pickup starting on July 12th (that’s Monday!).
You can pick from the following:
Honey Orchid Scent Cultivar
(Flavour Profile: Creamy, honey and floral)Almond Scent Cultivar
(Flavour Profile: Toasty aroma and nutty)Duck-Shit Scent Cultivar
(Flavour Profile: Buttery, slightly roasty and floral)
Jars will come with a note on brewing instructions.
As I am still at testing phase for this smol service, it is limited to local pick-up only (Kensington Market or Bay and College) and pickups can be arranged to happen either Mondays, Fridays or Sundays (between 12PM-7PM) for two weeks after release. (Dates: July 12, 16, 18, 19, 23, 25)
Teh People is a small studio that is completely self-funded! The Teh Jars are a really great way for me to increase revenue for the studio in the future. As such, these are Pay What You Want offerings with a minimum ask of $5.00. Donations are welcome, or if you haven’t yet picked up a copy of Gradations 1 & 2 or If A Carp Dreams Of The Milky Way, you can do so and I will refund your shipping fee when you pickup!
What’s after this one?
Future iterations will feature blends mixed by me from my own, relatively large tea library and I hope to increase the quantity over time. I have been spending a lot more time tending to the “teh” in Teh People and am bubbling lots of little ideas.
In the meantime, sip tea and enjoy your summer :)
